On the 9th of January, the NTUSS protem committee became proud parents of our baby, the NTUSS. As all proud parents are of their newborns, we had to start off with a bang and our very first task? Canvassing for funds and a membership drive on the 16th of February 2008!
Through the kind donation of numerous individuals, we accumulated 4 boxes of fiction and non-fiction books, some of which rare collectibles and first editions. With such an eclectic mix of books, 2 days were spent sorting and categorising them! Carting them from the South Spine to the North Spine was a tedious task but thanks to the many helping hands we had on that day, the work was very enjoyable.
Our budding designer Yi Ming (3rd year major) kindly designed and produced 3 awesome limited-design badges for sale. While most were snapped up, we still do have a couple more left in stock so grab them before it is too late! New designs will be up for the next canvassing and membership drive, so do keep an eye on this space for updates!
In all, we managed to raise just about $200 and are looking forward to the next canvassing drive.
For those who missed us at the booth, you can still purchase the badges from Emily. We have about 10 sets left!
1 badge is selling for $1 while a set of 3 is sold for $2.50.
