Peranakan Discovery '08
You know a culture is in need of perservation when there's a museum dedicated to it. The Peranakans - heard of the "those born here", but don't really know what they are about? Here's your chance! Assistant Prof Caroline Pluss has organised a trip, coming monday, to the museum, and arranged for a curator to bring students on a guided tour of Singapore's famous, yet rather mysterious culture. Register now, for this trip on Oct 20, 2pm.

1) Start: 2 pm outside the Administrative Building, NTU (please be in time to board the bus)
2) Around 3 pm, arrive at Peranakan Museum (39 Armenian Street) and visit the museum, special admission charge $2.50
3) 4.30 – 5.30 pm, talk by curator Mr. Randall Ee (in the museum) on the representation of Peranakan identity
5) 5.30 pm, end of visit (please note that no further transport will be provided)
